I CANNOT DO ALL THE GOOD THE WORLD NEEDS. BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD I CAN DO.
-Jana Stanfield
Colorado has been seeing some of the coldest temperatures we’ve seen in years. Many of us have hunkered down in our warm homes to ride out the freeze; thanks to COVID, this isn’t anything new for many. But with the extreme temperature drops, our thoughts go towards the people who are not as fortunate as us. Giving back to our community is important to us, so we looked into how we could help now. The people who are living out in the cold, the most vulnerable in our community. In looking at how we could best help this part of our community in the quickest form we discovered Homeward Alliance. Formerly “Homeless Gear” this Colorado based non-profit assists the homeless in our community in a variety of ways.
“Homeward Alliance operates a continuum of programs and initiatives for families, adults and seniors, such as basic needs, housing-focused case management, behavioral health and employment services. We are not only an alliance of services, but also an alliance of volunteers, donors, agency partners and other community stakeholders. We envision a community in which homelessness is rare, short-lived and non-recurring.”
Feeling driven to give back to our community, some staff members here at Roof Link cleared out their closets of cold-weather gear and headed to The Murphy Center to donate various jackets, base layers, hats and boots. Donations go directly to the homeless in our community.
Serving others and giving back to our community is a pillar of our mission here at Roof Link. Not only do we do this through providing excellent service and workmanship in our roofing products, but also through partnering with our community. If you feel compelled to get involved, please visit Homeward Alliance’s website to see opportunities to volunteer, donate and more.
